When you decide to have laser depilation treatment, make sure that the depilation systems used are of single wavelength light and not intense pulsed light machines (IPL’s), as these are not true depilation lasers.
These machines use a highly concentrated beam of incoherent light, often together with a cream or gel, to burn the hair. An important failing in these systems is their lack of reliability in producing a selective broad band of light which only affects the hair (selective photothermolysis).
These machines produce a wide band of light that can heat up all the surrounding tissue. IPL’s are generally cheaper equipment and are used for various skin treatments, principally and ultimately, for treatments of permanent depilation.
Real lasers generally achieve faster and better depilation results.
